Takara is a typical Shishito pepper with a small fruit and a mild but rich flavor. The compact plant has a spreading habit, short internodes, is well branched and has high production potential. The fruit uniformity is superior to OP strains. The peduncle holds well to the fruit. Takara may exhibit some fruit that are spicy or pungent under stress conditions like hot and dry conditions. This phenomenon is one of the distinguishing features of Shishito peppers.
